Shiloh accident is subject of suit

A Belleville woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims lost control of her vehicle, causing it to collide with the woman's automobile.

Shari Kaemmerer claims she was driving a 2006 Saturn Aura east on Lebanon east of Eagles Landing Drive in Shiloh on Jan. 21, 2009, at about 7:06 p.m. when defendant Taylor Bridges, who was driving a 2001 Lexus west on Lebanon, lost control of her vehicle and caused a collision.

Because of the accident, Kammerer suffered personal injuries, became hindered and prevented from attending to her normal duties, lost wages, suffered pain and anguish and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint filed Jan. 13 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Bridges negligently failed to warn of an impending collision with her horn, drove too fast, failed to keep her vehicle under control, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to properly apply her brakes and failed to stop when danger was imminent, the suit states.

In her complaint, Kaemmerer is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

Mark C. Scoggins and Anthony P. Gilbreth of Crowder and Scroggins in Columbia will be representing her.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 11-L-22.
