Applebee's named in slip and fall suit

A Centreville woman is suing the owners of an Applebee's restaurant after allegedly slipping on a wet floor as she walked in the door.

Terran Jenkins filed the lawsuit against Applebee's International Inc. and Applebee's Services Inc. on Dec. 6 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

In March 2009, Jenkins says she walked into the restaurant in Fairview Heights, slipped on the wet floor by the entryway and hurt herself.

Jenkins accuses the restaurant of negligence for allowing the dangerous conditions. She is seeking more than $100,000 in damages to compensate for medical expenses, lost wages and court costs.

Attorneys Mark C. Scoggins and Anthony P. Gilbreth of Columbia are representing Jenkins.
