A status conference is set Dec. 9 in a personal suit filed by St. Clair County Recorder of Deeds Patty Sprague and her attorney husband, Robert Sprague.

The Spragues are suing Adriano Silva for allegedly running a stop sign at a Belleville intersection hitting the Spragues' car.

Both Patty and Robert Sprague claim to have been injured in the 2009 accident.

The suit seeks damages in excess of $50,000 and costs.

Silva denies that he ran the stop, citing a brake defect.

St. Clair County Circuit Judge Robert LeChien presides.

Robert Sprague represents himself and his wife.

Martin Clay represents Silva.

The case is St. Clair case number 09-L-561.
