A woman driving southbound on the Homer Adams Parkway in Alton was seriously injured Sept. 19 in a collision with two other vehicles.
Beth A. Agin filed a lawsuit on Oct. 1 in Madison County Circuit Court against Maria A. Foster and Chase A. Garvey.
Agin says she was traveling south on the Parkway near the intersection of Washington Street when she was struck by Foster who was turning left onto Washington while crossing the southbound lanes of the Home Adams Parkway. Garvey was also traveling south on the Parkway behind Agin.
Agin blames Foster for failing to obey a traffic light, failing to yield the right of way, not looking out properly and driving recklessly. She also claims Foster was driving faster than conditions warranted, failed to stay in her lane or to use her horn as a warning signal.
Agin claims she suffered severe and permanent injuries that may be disabling. She says she incurred medical costs. She says she sustained pain and suffering and claims lost wages.
Agin says she was struck by Garvey's car after Foster collided with her.
She claims Garvey was negligent for failing to maintain a proper lookout, driving recklessly, speeding faster than conditions made reasonable, not reducing speed and not sounding his horn.
She is seeking a judgment against both defendants for $50,000 plus costs.
Brian M. Wendler of Wendler Law will be representing her.
