Route 15 driver sues three others for injuries suffered in rear-end collision

A driver is suing three others for injuries he allegedly suffered in a rear-end collision on Illinois Route 15.

Jimmie W. Paul filed the complaint against Erroyl F. Ford, James A. Markins and Dwayne M. Wilson Aug. 27 in St. Clair County Circuit Court

According to the lawsuit, Paul was driving down Route 15 on Sept. 3, 2008 when Ford pulled out in front of him, forcing Paul to stop immediately to avoid a crash. Following his abrupt stop, Paul says he was rear-ended by James A. Markins and Dwayne M. Wilson who were driving directly behind him.

Paul argues Ford was negligent for failing to pay attention and follow the rules of the road. He claims Markins and Wilson were also negligent for failing to pay attention and stop in time to avoid a collision.

Paul says he suffered severe, permanent injuries as a result of the rear-end collision. He is asking to be compensated for pain and suffering, loss of a normal life, medical expenses and lost wages. Paul is seeking damages of more than $50,000 from each of the defendants.

Attorney Mark S. Peebles of Belleville is representing Paul.
