A man claims he suffered injuries to his right shoulder and clavicle after a driver crossed into his lane and struck him.
Dennis R. Vahle Jr. filed a lawsuit July 6 in Madison County Circuit Court against James A. Sullivan.
Vahle claims he drove his 2007 Ford Focus south on Illinois Route 159 in Moro Township on Feb. 20 when Sullivan, who drove a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado north on the same road, struck his vehicle.
In addition to his injuries, Vahle suffered pain, incurred medical costs and lost money, according to the complaint.
He blames Sullivan for causing the collision, saying Sullivan negligently failed to maintain control of his vehicle, failed to maintain a proper lookout, failed to drive in the proper lane and failed to yield to oncoming traffic.
In his complaint, Vahle seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
