Rear-end accident suit trial pushed off, had been set Monday

A 2008 rear-end accident suit's Monday trial has been pushed off.

According to the docket sheet in the case, plaintiff's counsel Lance Mallon of Wood River informed presiding judge Madison County Chief Judge Ann Callis' office that the suit was not ready for trial May 19.

Mallon also requested a new trial date.

That new date will be set June 30 at a 9 a.m. case management conference.

Mallon's client, Wendy Brooks Ursch is suing Jacob Michael for allegedly rear-ending and injuring her in February 2008.

Her suit seeks unspecified damages.

The June 7 trial would have begun at 9 a.m.

The case had been assigned to Madison County Circuit Judge Daniel Stack.

It was one of over 100 that Callis transferred from Stack's civil docket last December due to his announced 2010 retirement.

Stack will retire later this year.

The case is Madison case number 08-L-680.
