A man has filed suit against the driver who he says struck him.
Justin R. Phillips claims he was driving south on Floraville Road in Millstadt on Nov. 18, 2009, when Margaret A. Burress, who was driving north on the same road, struck him.
Because of the collision, Phillips sustained injuries to various parts of his body, causing him pain and permanent disability; incurred medical costs; and lost wages, according to the complaint filed April 14 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Burress negligently drove too fast, failed to drive her vehicle within a single lane of traffic, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to stop, swerve or slow down to avoid a collision, the suit states.
In his complaint, Phillips is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
