Edwardsville accident is subject of suit

A man claims he incurred serious and permanent injuries after a driver failed to obey traffic control devices at an intersection.

Alan Razeghi filed a lawsuit April 14 in Madison County Circuit Court against Emily Razeghi.

Alan Razeghi claims he rode in a 2007 PT Cruiser Emily Razeghi drove west on Center Grove Road approaching Plum in Edwardsville on April 15, 2008, when Emily Razeghi struck Jessica D. Millman.

Because of the collision, Alan Razeghi sustained severe and permanent injuries, suffered great pain and anguish, incurred medical costs and lost wages, according to the complaint.

Alan Razeghi blames Emily Razeghi for causing the collision, saying she failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to reduce her speed to avoid a collision, failed to keep her vehicle under proper control, failed to properly follow signaling devices at the intersection, failed to observe Millman's vehicle and drove too fast.

Alan Razeghi is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

Patrick G. Johnston and Benjamin C. Stephens of Johnston Law Offices in Edwardsville will be representing him.
