A Centreville woman has filed suit against the driver who she says struck her vehicle as she was driving on the interstate.
Angela O'Neal claims she was driving a 2005 Nissan Maxima south on Interstate 55 about 500 feet north of the Illinois state line when defendant George Allen Lynn, who was driving a 2005 Peterbilt Motors Company tractor on the same road, struck her vehicle. At the time of the collision, Lynn was working for co-defendants Milton Goza Jr. and Goza Trucking.
Because of the collision, O'Neal was made sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled; incurred medical costs; suffered disability; and experienced pain and suffering, according to the complaint filed April 7 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
She blames Lynn for causing the accident, saying he failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to stop or swerve to avoid a collision and failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, the suit states.
In her three-count suit, O'Neal is seeking a judgment of more than $150,000, plus costs.
She will be represented by Robert C. Nelson of Nelson and Nelson in Belleville.
Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-160.
