A woman claims she sustained injuries to her left shoulder, neck, back and coccyx after falling at a Cahokia nursing home.
Susan Crawford filed a lawsuit March 11 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Cahokia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Crawford claims she visited the nursing home on April 1, 2008, when she encountered a wet floor that had recently been mopped, causing her to fall.
In addition to her injuries, Crawford incurred medical costs and lost money because of her fall, according to the complaint.
Crawford blames Cahokia for failing to warn its customers of a recently mopped floor, for allowing a wet floor to exist in an area where it knew its customers would walk and for failing to barricade a passageway where a wet floor existed.
Crawford seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Samuel A. Mormino Jr. of Mormino, Velloff, Edmonds and Snider in Alton will be representing her.
