The father of a minor girl claims his daughter sustained severe injuries to her arm after falling off a trampoline.
Lamar Martin on behalf of his daughter, Taylor Martin, filed a lawsuit March 15 in St. Clair County Circuit against Darlene Fowler, Carol Cronin and unknown parties.
Lamar Martin claims Taylor Martin sustained severe injuries to her arm after she fell off a trampoline at Fowler's and Cronin's residence at 3317 Mill Springs Rd. in Belleville on March 12, 2008.
Because of her fall, Taylor Martin endured extreme physical and mental pain, suffering and anguish; incurred medical costs; has been permanently disfigured and disabled; and can no longer attend to her usual affairs, according to the complaint.
Lamar Martin blames Fowler and Cronin for causing his daughter's fall, saying the trampoline failed to be situated in a fenced area, the trampoline failed to have guards to prevent children from flying off it, the trampoline failed to provide warnings to alert Taylor Martin of its dangers and the trampoline attracted children to its danger.
In his two-count suit, Lamar Martin seeks a judgment in excess of $100,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
Rhonda D. Fiss of Belleville will be representing him.
