Three hospitals, 12 doctors named in St. Clair County med mal complaint

A woman claims doctors at St. John's Hospital, Passavant Memorial Area Hospital of Jacksonville and Thomas H. Boyd Memorial Hospital of Carrollton failed to diagnose her unspecified medical condition, causing her permanent pain and severe mental anguish.

The complaint does not identify the location of the hospitals. An Internet search indicates there is a St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Cindy M. Shaw filed a lawsuit March 19 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against St. John's Hospital, Passavant Memorial Area Hospital, Thomas H. Boyd Memorial Hospital and doctors Michael McNear, V. Sebodosa, Bishop, K. Harirama Acharya, David Patterson, Jae Yank, J. Lewis, David Huyette, Ronald P. Levy, Rodger J. Elble, Monisha Dutta and M. Jones.

Shaw blames the defendants for failing to diagnose her condition, but fails to specify her condition or its symptoms in her suit. She only claims she suffers from permanent pain, mental anguish, disability and disfigurement and incurred medical costs as a result of it.

In her 15-count suit, Shaw is seeks a judgment of more than $1.1 million, plus costs.
