A Granite City man claims he sustained back injuries after a woman reversed down his driveway and struck him.
Jacob Pellazari filed a lawsuit March 16 in Madison County Circuit Court against Cynthia Aubuschon.
Pellazari claims he stood in his driveway at 2912 Edgewood Ave. on Sept. 29, 2009, at about 10:30 p.m. when Aubuschon attempted to reverse her vehicle from the driveway, but struck Pellazari in the process.
Because of the incident, Pellazari became sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled; suffered extensive injuries to his head, body, limbs and back; incurred medical costs; suffered disability; and experienced pain and suffering, according to the complaint.
Pellazari blames Aubuschon for causing his injuries, saying she failed to keep a proper lookout, drove in such a manner as to strike him, failed to properly apply her brakes, drove too fast, failed to avoid colliding with Pellazari, failed to safely back up her vehicle, drove without adequate brakes and drove in reverse gear without keeping a proper lookout for pedestrians.
Pellazari seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
John H. Hustava of Collinsville will be representing him.
