A Godfrey attorney engaged in a dispute over fees from several Madison County class action suits has filed a third amended complaint.
Attorney Timothy Campbell filed his newest complaint Nov. 25 in a case against Chicago attorney Paul Weiss and Weiss's firm, Freed & Weiss LLC.
Madison County Circuit Judge Daniel Stack had given Campbell 30 days to file his response after dismissing several counts of Campbell's earlier suit.
Campbell claims that Paul Weiss and his firm agreed to share fees generated from several lawsuits brought in Madison County by lead plaintiffs Winnie Madison and Gerald Bemis. Campbell had worked with Weiss, his firm and the Lakin law firm of Wood River.
Campbell claims in his suit that he was deprived of his rightful fees.
The suit makes claims of breach of contract against the defendants. Campbell seeks in excess of $50,000 in damages.
The case is Madison case number 08-L-364.
