A woman says she was disabled and disfigured after a man attempted to make a left turn while disobeying a traffic signal, but instead collided with her.
Mary Scott filed a lawsuit Aug. 6 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Mathew Macek.
Scott says she was driving on Illinois Route 13 near its intersection with Illinois Route 159 in Belleville on April 1 when Macek collided with her.
Because of the accident, Scott experienced pain and suffering, incurred medical expenses, lost income, sustained property damage and remains at an increased risk for future injury, according to the complaint.
She blames Macek for failing to keep a proper lookout, for failing to yield the right-of-way, for disobeying a traffic signal and for making a left turn.
Scott is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
