A total of 24 new asbestos suits were filed in Madison County Circuit Court during the week of March 16 through March 20.

The following claims were filed:

--Paul Adams Sr. of Pennsylvania claims mesothelioma on behalf of his recently deceased wife, Beverly Adams, who worked from 1947 until 1980 as a telephone operator, retail clerk and laborer at various locations. Adams is represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of SimmonsCooper in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0272.

--Mary Ahlrich of Florida claims mesothelioma on behalf of her recently deceased husband, Stephen Ahlrich, who worked from 1961 until 2000 as a busboy, life guard, substitute teacher, pilot trainer and laborer at various locations throughout Illinois. Stephen Ahlrich was also exposed to asbestos fibers through his father who worked from 1945 until 1966 as an electrician, according to the complaint. Mary Ahlrich is represented by Nicholas J. --Rafael Casanova of Texas, a cafeteria worker from 1968 until 1971, a janitor from 1969 until 1971, a laborer from 1970 until 1982, an expediter from 1980 until 1983, an inspector and geologist from 1984 until 1990 and a scientist from 1990 until 2009, claims mesothelioma. --Sherridan Crapo of Indiana claims mesothelioma on behalf of her recently deceased father, Charles Morby, who worked from 1943 until 1946 as a carpenter's mate and from 1946 until the early 1990s as a civil engineer. --David Davidson of Texas claims his recently deceased wife, Selma Davidson, developed mesothelioma after her work in the industrial industry. David Davidson is represented by Randy L. --Kandi Edwards of Florida claims mesothelioma on behalf of her recently deceased father, Mathias Koenig, who worked from 1945 until 1979 at Illinois Bell Telephone Company in Chicago. He was also exposed to asbestos fibers through his father, who was an assembly line worker at Hot Point Appliances in Chicago in the 1950s, according to the complaint. --Donald B. Enneking of California, a project engineer from 1972 until 1980, mechanic in 1958 and maintenance manager from 1980 until 1995, claims mesothelioma. He is represented by T. --Anna M. Fey of Kentucky claims lung cancer on behalf of her recently deceased husband, Eugene C. --Jakob A. and Beverly Weber of Alabama claim Jakob A. Weber developed mesothelioma after his work from 1948 until 1951 and from 1953 until 1971 as a machinist, from 1951 until 1953 as a laborer for the U.S. Army, from 1971 until 1975 as a laborer at a company that rebuilt slugs for locomotives and from 1975 until 2005 as a laborer at his own business.
