A total of 25 new asbestos suits were filed in Madison County Circuit Court during the week of Feb. 23 through Feb. 27.

The following claims were filed:

--Jean Angell of Tennessee, a knitter, clerical worker, teacher and receptionist at various locations from 1970 until 2008, claims mesothelioma. She is represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of SimmonsCooper in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0174.

--Wilma Frances Boswell of Missouri claims lung cancer. She claims she was exposed to asbestos fibers through her husband, who was a steel worker at Granite City Steel from 1958 until 1980. Boswell is represented by Elizabeth V. Heller and Robert Rowland of Goldenberg, Heller, Antognoli and Rowland in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0176.

--Jeaneen Boyd of Arizona claims mesothelioma on behalf of her deceased father, Jaward Boyd, Sr., who worked from 1967 until 2000 as a communication systems worker, manager, supervisor of operations and planning, insurance agent, relief supervisor, engineer technician, engineer tech supporter, staff engineer and customer service representative at various locations through Arizona and Texas. --Frank Bury of Illinois, a drill operator, laborer and nail maker at various locations from 1945 until 1986, claims lung cancer. He is represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of SimmonsCooper in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0162.

--Dewey and Brenda Cardwell of New Mexico claim Dewey Cardwell developed mesothelioma after his work from 1964 until 2008 as a mechanic, truck driver, laborer and salesman. --Glenna Combs of Michigan, a laborer for Enamelum from 1967 though 1968, an assembler at DeDoes from 1972 until 1989 and a laborer at Hughes Manufacturing from 1996 until 1997, claims mesothelioma. She claims she was also exposed to asbestos fibers through her father's work at Stainless Steel of America. Combs is represented by Elizabeth V. --John Esayian of Wisconsin, a pin setter, janitor's helper, laborer, drafter, deaner and coroner at various locations throughout Illinois from 1946 until 1997, claims mesothelioma. He was also exposed to asbestos fibers through his father, who worked as a core maker and laborer in Milwaukee from 1930 until 1967, according to the complaint. Esayian is represented by Nicholas J. --Frank Gallo of California, a laborer, assembly line worker, grocery store manager, car salesman and car lot owner at various locations from 1954 until 2006, claims mesothelioma. --Phyllis Gray of Illinois claims colon cancer on behalf of her recently deceased husband, Billy W. Gray, who worked from 1953 until 1986 as a painter at various locations. --Tom J. O'Connor of Illinois claims his recently deceased father, John J. O'Connor, developed mesothelioma after his work as an engineer and general foreman from 1962 until 1980. Tom J. --Genevieve Robinson of Washington claims her recently deceased husband, Alfred J.
