Cobb salad leads to woman's pain and suffering

A woman is seeking more than $50,000 from an Edwardsville restaurant after she claims she got sick from eating a cobb salad.

Amy Goodman ordered a cobb salad and zucchini sticks from Vanzo's Tap Room on Feb. 22, 2007, at about 2 p.m., according to the complaint filed Feb. 11 in Madison County Circuit Court.

After eating the food, Goodman became ill, was made diseased, disordered, infected and sick and suffered a loss of earning capacity, the suit states.

She also claims she experienced pain and suffering, incurred medical costs, suffered disability and lost wages.

Vanzo's Tap Room was negligent by serving foods that were not healthful, sound and wholesome, according to the complaint.

Goodman is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.

Lon D. Weaver of the Law Office of Lon D. Weaver in Bethalto will be representing her.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0112.
