Three asbestos suits filed Dec. 29-Jan. 2

A total of three new asbestos lawsuits were filed in Madison County during the week of Dec. 29 through Jan. 2.

The following claims were filed:

--Verlie Hubbard of Tennessee, a laborer from the early 1960s until 1970 and who also performed home remodeling work on her home in the late 1960s and on her uncle's home in the early 70s, claims mesothelioma. She is represented by Randy L. Gori and Barry Julian of Gori, Julian and Associates in Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 08-L-1226.

--Lauren Huey of Alabama claims mesothelioma on behalf of her recently deceased mother, Jackie L. Huey. Jackie L. Huey worked as a painter and performed residential work, according to the complaint. Lauren Huey is represented by Randy L. Gori and Barry Julian of Gori, Julian and Associates in Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 08-L-1225.

--William Pratt of Iowa, a machinist, laborer, carpenter and table maker from 1945 until 1978, claims mesothelioma. He is represented by Michael R. Bilbrey and Timothy P. Hulla of the Law Offices of Michael R. Bilbrey in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 08-L-1223.
