Kuhlmann Design Group of St. Louis is suing the Village of Washington Park and its board of trustees for failing to pay $50,798.40 in engineering services.
According to a complaint filed Oct. 3 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, Kuhlmann contracted with the village on Feb. 28, 2006, to provide services on the "41st, 42nd, 43rd & Baleydier A&E Contract."
"Kuhlmann Design has made demand on Washington Park for its payment, which demand has been refused, the refusal being without justification and thus constituting a material breach of the Contract by Washington Park," the complaint states.
Kuhlmann is seeking the principle amount due plus interest at the rate of 1.5 percent per month, plus costs and attorneys' fees.
