Edward Spence has filed suit against Edward Meehan, alleging he was injured after a collision.
Spence was exiting Fiona's parking lot in Wood River in his 1991 Buick Regal, waiting to turn east on E. Edwardsville Road, according to the lawsuit filed Oct. 2 in Madison County Circuit Court.
At the same time, Meehan was attempting to enter the parking lot in his 2001 Dodge Caravan from E. Edwardsville Road, but struck Spence's vehicle, the suit states.
Because of the collision, Spence claims he has suffered physical and mental pain, incurred medical bills and lost money.
Meehan was negligent because he failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, failed to brake, failed to steer to avoid hitting Spence and failed to yield the right of way, according to the complaint.
Spence is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs.
