Three car pile-up subject of suit

Jerry Clark has filed suit against Brittany L. Morgan, claiming he was injured after a three-car pile-up.

Clark was driving his 1979 Chevrolet Chevette south on Stanley Road in Alton and Morgan was driving her 1979 Chevrolet Caprice on the same road on Oct. 16, 2006, according to the complaint filed Sept. 30 in Madison County Circuit Court.

Clark was stopped at the intersection of Stanley Road and Highway 140 and Alicia Reed, who was driving a 1998 Ford Escort, was directly behind him, the suit states.

Clark claims Morgan rear-ended Reed, which caused her vehicle to collide with his.

He claims that because of the accident he suffered bodily injury to his back, neck and limbs, disability and mental and physical pain and anguish.

Clark also had to pay for medical costs and his car was damaged, according to the suit.

Morgan was negligent because she operated in a careless manner, disregarded traffic signs and signals, failed to maintain a proper lookout and failed to yield, the suit states.

Clark is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs.

He is represented by Andrea Lamere of Schaeffer & Lamere in Godfrey.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 08-L-904.
