St. Clair County suit claims injuries from accident

Theodoric Davis has filed a suit against Miranda S. Gibson, alleging he was injured after a rear-end collision.

Davis claims he was driving north on Highway 157 and made a stop at the road's intersection with Route 3 on April 29, 2007, according to the complaint filed Sept. 3 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Gibson was also driving north on the same road and her vehicle rear-ended Davis's car, the suit states.

Davis claims he was violently thrown in his vehicle and received injuries to his shoulder, neck, back, internal and external organs.

He also states in the suit he has suffered great pain and mental anguish and that it will continue in the future.

He has incurred medical costs as a result of her injuries, according to the complaint.

He alleges Gibson was negligent because she failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep her vehicle in proper control, operated the vehicle at a speed that was more than proper, followed Davis's car too closely, and failed to stop to avoid colliding with Davis's car.

Davis is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs of the suit.

Paul M. Storment, Jr., of Belleville is representing him.
