Botched facial lands day spa in hot water

Dutch Hollow Medical Day Spa of Godfrey was named as a defendant in a personal injury suit filed by Linda Miller that seeks damages in excess of $15,000.

According to Miller, on Jan. 17, 2007, she hired Dutch Hollow for a professional salon service called a "blue peel."

A blue peel is a chemical peel that promotes faster skin healing after a surgical facelift, facial plastic surgery or facelift surgery.

Miller alleges Dutch Hollow negligently and carelessly applied blue peel too aggressively which caused a deep dermal injury and permanent scarring to her face.

She claims the treatment caused her to suffer permanent scarring and emotional damages which caused the loss of a normal life and medical expenses.

Miller is seeking damages in excess of $15,000, plus costs of the suit.

Alton attorney Michael Glisson of Williamson, Webster, Falb & Glisson will represent Miller in the case.

The case is awaiting mandatory arbitration.
