Mac's sued over woman's fall

A woman who tripped at a local watering hole filed a personal injury complaint in Madison County's arbitration division.

Jenifer Pauley alleges she slipped on water that accumulated on the floor at Mac's Time Out on Oct. 7, 2007.

The lawsuit filed Aug. 15, was the 500th arbitration suit filed in Madison County this year.

Pauley claims Mac's negligently and carelessly failed to inspect their premises and maintain it in a safe condition, failed to warn patrons that the premises were unsafe and hazardous, failed to remove an accumulation of water and failed to maintain their premises.

Represented by Dawna Hale of Wood River, Pauley alleges she sustained injuries to her left arm that caused and continues to cause pain and suffering, medical expenses and disability.

She is seeking a judgment not to exceed $50,000.

The case is awaiting mandatory arbitration.
