Alton Memorial
Alton Memorial Hospital filed suit against Susanne and Kenneth Brown in Madison County Circuit Court April 3, alleging the Browns are in breach of contract for not paying their hospital bills.
Represented by Brad Pierce of St. Louis, Alton Memorial claims the Browns have incurred $96,030.39 in medical expenses for services rendered at their request.
According to the hospital, the expenses of the family are chargeable upon the property of both husband and wife in favor of creditors.
"Charges on said accounts are reasonable," the complaint states.
Alton Memorial claims the Browns agreed to pay the expenses after all offsets and credits but have failed to do so.
In addition to the amount owed, Alton Memorial seeks a judgment for interest at the statutory rate of five percent per annum and costs of the suit.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Nicholas Byron.
