Edwardsville attorney Thomas Maag was arrested for soliciting a prostitute by the Granite City Police Department on Nov. 2.

Maag was taken into custody at 9:58 p.m. and later posted $105 bail. His 2004 Chevrolet Impala was impounded.

Five other individuals were arrested by the Granite City Police Department during an undercover prostitution sting last Friday.

Maag, 32, of Highland, is the son of former Illinois Appellate Court Judge Gordon Maag, who unsuccessfully ran for the Illinois Supreme Court in 2004.

In his mug shot, Maag was pictured wearing a Las Vegas t-shirt and a dark colored jacket.

Maag has been contacted by phone for comment, but has not responded.

He is currently employed at Wendler Law Firm in Edwardsville. Maag formerly worked for the Lakin Law Firm in Wood River, but left the firm in early 2006.

According to police reports, Maag listed Edwardsville family attorney Amanda Verett as his emergency contact.

Maag represents Verett in a personal injury case against Pizza Hut.

Verett filed suit against Pizza Hut and Clarence Jackson alleging she was injured when walking out the door of Pizza Hut on Feb. 12, when she held open the door to allow herself and Jackson to exit.

She claimed Jackson grabbed the door in such a fashion that it caused the door to suddenly and sharply move and injured her right shoulder.

She claimed Jackson violated his duty to use ordinary care for the safety of others when he operated the Pizza Hut door which caused her to sustain an acromion process impingement in her right shoulder.

Verett claimed that due to the injury she suffered at Pizza Hut, she was unable to avoid falling on a later date and tore tendons and suffered injuries to her left hand and wrist, including a partial tear of the pronator quadratus muscle at the dorsum.

She claimed her injuries caused her to suffer a disfigurement, severe pain and discomfort and medical expenses.
