Intoxicating liquors cause woman's extensive injuries, suit says

A woman who was attacked at TSBN Cleo's in Edwardsville filed a personal injury suit against the restaurant claiming it sold too many alcoholic beverages to a patron who assaulted her.

Jenna Gordillo claims she was at Cleo's, which is located at 1013 North Main in Edwardsville, on Oct. 20, 2006, when co-defendant Tara Dee Jennings negligently assaulted her causing extensive injuries to her mouth, lips and front teeth.

Gordillo claims Cleo's sold or gave Jennings intoxicating liquors which caused her to become intoxicated.

She claims Jennings willfully and intentionally struck and beat her to cause her physical harm.

Gordillo claims her injuries caused her to experience pain and suffering, suffer a loss of earning capacity, suffer a disability and disfigurement and lost wages.

Represented by Rodney Caffey of the Lakin Law Firm in Wood River, Gordillo is seeking damages in excess of $100,000, plus costs.
