Michael Montgomery of Missouri claims his business associate failed to pay his fair share of proceeds generated by ticket sales to a car show held at Gateway International Raceway on June 3.
He is seeking $5,540 in compensatory damages and $50,000 in punitive damages from Dewayne Carraway of East St. Louis, according to a suit filed June 29 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Montgomery, represented by Reginald A. Greene of Atlanta, Ga., claims he and Carraway had agreed to divide equally net proceeds from ticket sales.
"Defendant has failed to pay plaintiff his share of the net proceeds," the complaint states.
