Trackman injured after tripping on debris and tools

An Alton & Southern Railway trackman/laborer filed suit for injuries he sustained after tripping over debris and tools on the job.

Kenneth A. Wilkinson is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages from the railroad, according to a suit filed April 3 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Represented by Gregory M. Tobin of Pratt & Tobin of East Alton, Wilkinson claims the incident took place on Jan. 25 while he was working in East St. Louis. Wilkinson fell from a work-truck, the complaint states.

He claims he sustained severe and permanent injuries to his back, neck, spine and body, all of which have and will cause him to suffer great pain and mental anguish.

Wilkinson claims Alton & Southern Railway was negligent for failing to provide him a reasonably safe place to work. He also claims he has lost money and will continue to lose money and earnings he would otherwise have been entitled to.
