Carol Massalone filed a personal injury suit against Olin Community Credit Union in Madison County Circuit Court Jan. 24, claiming she was injured while exiting the building.

According to the complaint, Massalone was at the Godfrey location on Sept. 2, 2005, when she was caused to trip and fall from the sidewalk onto the drive path on the parking lot in the area of the wheelchair ramp.

She claims the credit union failed to warn visitors of the change in elevation between the sidewalk and drive path and failed to paint or otherwise warn visitors of the change in elevation.

Massalone claims she sustained injuries to her knees and elbows that have caused pain of the body and mind, medical expenses and the loss of wages.

Represented by Samuel Mormino, Jr. of Alton, Massalone is seeking damages in excess of $50,000.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Nicholas Byron.
