Vicki Lamere filed a medical malpractice suit against Alton Memorial Hospital claiming the hospital negligently and carelessly failed to treat her in an appropriate manner.

According to the complaint filed Aug. 28 in Madison County Circuit Court, Lamere was given insulin at an inappropriate time forcing her to have subsequent treatment and procedures in an attempt to repair the damage caused by the hospital.

Lamere was a patient at Alton Memorial from Aug. 2 through Aug. 10, 2005.

She claims she suffered and continues to suffer injuries to her kidneys and memory which cause pain and suffering, a disability, medical expenses and loss of wages.

Lamere's husband, Michael, claims his wife's serious and irreparable injuries have resulted in the loss of consortium and services, including past and present medical bills for his wife and himself and psychological and emotional damage.

Represented by Lance Mallon of Wood River, the Lamere's are seeking damages in excess of $100,000, plus all costs of the suit.
