The estate of Patricia Raynor filed a wrongful death suit against Stephen Striegel, M.D., and Mark Fedder, M.D. in St. Clair County Circuit Court June 30, seeking damages in excess of $150,000.

According to the complaint, Striegel negligently failed to properly perform a hemicolectomy on Jan. 10, 2005, and failed to insist on a complete diagnostic colonoscopy.

The suit alleges Striegel failed to remove a tumor.

Raynor's estate claims Fedder negligently failed to properly identify the location of the Patricia Raynor's colon tumor on Jan. 29, 2004.

"Patricia Raynor was caused to die and suffered pain and suffering as well as injury to her body as a whole prior to her death," the complaint states.

Raynor's estate is represented by Joseph Bartholomew of Belleville.
