Alain Cook filed a civil complaint against Madison County for cruel and unusual punishment alleging he was chocked and poisoned with mind altering drugs on Oct. 29, 2005.

According to the complaint filed in Madison County Circuit Court March 28, Cook was allegedly pulled out of a hospital bed, hog tied and shocked with four different tazers at one time.

He claims he was being treated for chest pains at the time he was allegedly tazed.

Cook also claims that on March 27, sheriff deputies harassed him by sitting outside his Godfrey home eight separate times.

Cook is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus all costs of the suit claiming he suffered severe and extreme emotional distress.

He is representing himself in the case. It has been assigned to Circuit Judge Nick Byron.
