Steven Reed of St. Louis filed a personal injury suit against St. Louis County Cab and its employee, Jackson Kimangu, in St. Clair County Circuit Court, seeking damages from an auto accident in East St. Louis.
In the Dec. 5 suit, Reed claims he was driving his motorcycle at the intersection of Caseyville Avenue and 25th Street on July 5, when Kimangu, driving for the cab company, failed to yield and pulled into his path.
According to the complaint, Kimangu failed to: keep a proper lookout ahead and laterally, signal warning of the approach or yield the right of way.
Reed claims that his entire back, pelvis, left foot, face, neck and head along with all the bones, muscle, ligaments, tendons, blood vessels, and cartilages were severely bruised, contused, lacerated, cut, torn, swollen, mashed, narrowed, wrenched, dislocated, sprained and rendered stiff.
The suit also claims Reed's entire nervous system was severely shocked and deranged and he suffered and will continue to suffer great physical pain and mental anguish and that the injured parts of his body that have been greatly diminished.
Represented by Jerry Crowder of Brown and Crouppen in St. Louis, Reed is seeking damages in excess of 100,000.
