A Waterloo man who was shot while fueling his car at an East St. Louis gas station filed a $100,000 lawsuit against the shooter and the owner of the gas station.

Thomas J. Clark claims Timothy L. Cross of East St. Louis attacked, him at a Mobil station located at 7501 State St.

According to the complaint filed in St. Clair County, Unlimited Investment--the owner of the gas station--failed to provide adequate security, warn Clark of the unsafe conditions, prevent attacks and provide adequate personnel to protect customers.

He also claims store personnel failed to come to his aid.

Clark claims he sustained severe and permanent injuries, disability and disfigurement which caused physical and mental anguish, medical expenses and loss of normal life.

He is represented by Stephen Buser of Columbia.
