Way to go!

To the editor:

On Friday, Nov. 11 (Veterans Day), the North Central Democrats hosted Trivia Night at the Holiday Inn in Alton under the leadership of Jay Myers and Amy Simonds.

From the beginning, they had decided they wanted to do something to help our disabled veterans. Jay and Amy thought they would have a silent auction and give all the proceeds to the Granite City chapter of the Disabled American Veterans.

They knew they would need help so they enlisted the expertise of Ruth Ann Baugh to help them with donations.

It was a well-planned evening at Alton's finest meeting place. As always, Holiday Inn lived up to its impeccable reputation for service. It was obvious that everyone had a great time.

The NCD made a little money and also raised $967 for our Disabled Veterans. Two men that were playing told Jay and Amy that they would match this amount. A little later they anted up $1,033 to make it an even $2,000.

I would like to thank these two attorneys, Mike Bilbrey and David Hylla, for this outstanding display of support for the Disabled American Veterans. God bless everyone that helps our Disabled Veterans.
