Medical malpractice suit takes on doctors, hospitals

Memorial Hospital

SLU

Charles Henderson filed a medical malpractice suit in St. Clair County against Sana Ullah, M.D., Kenneth Hall Regional Hospital, Anthony Newell, M.D., Belleville Memorial Hospital, Belleville Emergency Physicians, St. Louis University Hospital and Lawrence Stein, M.D.

In his suit, Henderson alleges that on or around April 28, he presented himself to the various defendants for an injury to his lower extremity.

According to the complaint, the defendants, individually, and through their employees, were negligent of one or more of the following acts or omissions by failing to:

  • diagnose a tibial fracture;
  • properly treat a tibial fracture;
  • diagnose compartment syndrome; and
  • timely treat compartment syndrome.

    Henderson claims his condition went undiagnosed and untreated, resulting in permanent pain, mental anguish, disability and disfigurement, lost wages and medical expenses. He also claims he has been permanently prevented from attending to his usual affairs and duties.

    He is represented by Thomas Keefe of Belleville. His nine-count suit is seeking damages in excess of $75,000.

    The suit does not make clear where Henderson was treated for his medical condition but states Ullah was working at the emergency room at Kenneth Hall. Newell was working at Memorial, and Stein was an employee of St. Louis University Hospital.
