Plaintiff says doctor should have performed c-section

St. Elizabeth's Hospital

Two doctors and St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville were named in a medical malpractice lawsuit filed in St. Clair County Circuit Court June 10 by Lynnesha Young on behalf of her daughter, Lakenzie Herring.

Young claims that on June 2, 1999, Vijay Nama, M.D. delivered her daughter at St. Elizabeth’s but failed to take preventive steps to avoid injuring her shoulder.

Besides Nama, Young also named his supervisor, Charles Robacker, M.D. as a defendant.

According to the complaint, Nama should have performed a caesarean section.

Young claims that Herring suffered disabling injuries to her head, body and limbs, experienced pain and suffering, and will suffer an impairment of future earning capacity.

Represented by James Williams of Belleville, Young is seeking at least $50,000 in damages of behalf of her daughter.
