An East St. Louis woman filed a medical malpractice suit in St. Clair County Circuit Court May 6 seeking a “fair and just award” in excess of $100,000 from her doctor and Kenneth Hall Regional Hospital.
Angela Haire alleges that on May 8, 2003, she sought treatment from Maurice Miller, M.D. at Kenneth Hall Regional Hospital for a fractured ankle. He performed an open reduction of her fracture.
Haire claims Miller carelessly set and reduced her fracture causing her to have further complications which necessitated additional treatment.
As a result of Miller’s alleged negligence, Haire claims she has suffered a decrease of motion in her ankle and is disabled and disfigured.
Haire also states she has experienced pain and suffering and will be reasonably certain to experience it in the future and claims she will suffer an impairment of future earning capacity.
