Greenmount Road and Piper Hill Drive in Shiloh
The father of a girl who died from injuries sustained in a car accident filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the drivers that collided with his vehicle.
Juan Santiago filed the suit as special administrator of the estate of his daughter, Julene Santiago, in St. Clair County Circuit Court March 22. Santiago is represented by Scott Rudin of Anesi, Ozmon, Rodin, Novak, & Kohen of Chicago.
Santiago names Michelle Taylor, Timothy Branscomb, Cheryl Boyd and Samuel Berstein as defendants.
According to the complaint, Taylor was operating a car owned by Branscomb, and Boyd was driving a car owned by Berstein.
Santiago claims that on Nov. 20, 2003, he and his daughter were traveling north on Greenmount Road in Shiloh when he was involved in a collision with Taylor and Boyd on Greenmount Road and Piper Hill Drive. Julene died on Nov. 25,, 2003.
Santiago claims each of the defendants were negligent for:
Santiago claims as a result of defendants' carelessness and alleged negligence his daughter sustained severe and permanent injuries resulting in her death.
According to the complaint, Santiago and his wife suffered pecuniary injuries including loss of society, companionship, felicity, guidance, attention, advice, training, instruction and any other elements of loss of consortium.
Santiago is seeking damages in a dollar amount to satisfy the jurisdictional limitations of the court and other additional amounts the jury and the court deem proper, plus all costs of the suit.
This was the 200th Civil Law Division case filed in St. Clair County this year.
