A Granite City woman who was trying to lose weight, but ended up damaging her vascular system, filed an eight-count lawsuit against against the makers of "Super Go Go Go Juice Plus" and "Yellow Jacket" in Madison County Circuit Court on March 11.

Linda Kahn claims NVE Pharmaceuticals of Andover, N.J., Healthworks International of Winnsboro, La. and Go Natural of Coffeyville, Kan. failed to warn her of the products' hazards.

"Defendants either knew or should have known that the drug Ephedra had been related to...side effects including but not limited to heart attacks, strokes and dangerous cardiac rhythm disturbances," the complaint states.

She took the weight loss drugs between March 2002 and March 11, 2003.

Hahn is represented by Aaron Dickey of the Edwardsville firm Goldenberg, Miller, Heller & Antognoli P.C.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Daniel Stack.
