A woman is suing another driver for allegedly causing a collision.

Mary Miller filed a lawsuit on May 12 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Corey Dagley, alleging negligence in a June 2013 collision.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was driving her 2008 Honda Civic in a westbound direction in the left lane of Interstate 64 in St. Clair County on or about June 6, 2013.

The defendant was operating a 2007 Toyota Tundra immediately behind the plaintiff. When Miller reduced her speed due to traffic slowing down, the defendant allegedly failed to brake, rear-ending the plaintiff’s vehicle, the suit states.

The complaint states that the plaintiff’s brake lights were in working order at the time of the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to keep a proper lookout for other automobiles on the road, reduce his speed to avoid an accident, control his vehicle and keep an appropriate distance from the plaintiff’s car.

The plaintiff claims she has suffered damages, alleging pain, suffering, lost wages and substantial medical bills.

Miller seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus attorney’s fees and costs. She is represented by Michelle Rousseau and Michael Rousseau of The Law Office of Michael J. Rousseau in Belleville.
