Three amended complaints filed in personal injury suit

A Rock Bottom Bar patron claiming his jaw was broken by two other men has filed three separate amended complaints in just five months.

Plaintiff Kenneth E. Hopper filed his original complaint against Dean Tiepelman and Kenneth Lynn White on Sept. 11. He then filed his first amended complaint on Oct. 24, followed by his second amended complaint on Dec. 5 and a third amended complaint on Feb. 4.

Defendant Han-Dee Mart has requested more time to answer the amended complaint.

According to his complaints, Hopper claims he was a customer at the Rock Bottom Bar in Williamson on March 16. Shortly after midnight, Hopper says he was beaten by Tiepelman and White and suffered a broken jaw in the altercation.

Hopper accuses Tiepelman and White of battery and asks for more than $100,000 in damages for medical bills, loss of income and court costs.

Attorneys with the law firm of Ruyle, Sims & Bellm in Carlinville represent Hopper. They request a jury trial.

John P. Cunningham and Daniel G. Hasenstab of Brown & James in Belleville represent Han-Dee Mart.
