A Madison County woman filed a lawsuit against the driver of a car in which she was riding for injuries allegedly sustained during an auto accident.
Jennifer Stone field a suit Nov. 20 in Madison County Circuit Court against Sydney Curtis, citing negligence.
According to the complaint, on Feb. 25, 2013, around 3:40 a.m., Stone and Curtis were driving north on state Route 109, just north of Bethel Road in Mississippi Township in Jersey County when Curtis lost control of the car, as the car ran off the road and rolled over. The plaintiff alleges Curtis lost control of her car due to negligence as she was driving at an excessive speed, failed to keep her car under control and failed to reduce the speed of the car.
The suit states Stone suffered injuries of the nerves, ligaments, muscles and bones, in her neck, back, shoulders and arms, leaving her unable to participate in her normal life.
Stone seeks in excess of $50,000 for injuries and lost wages. She is represented by attorney Joseph Hoefert of Alton.
