Auto accident on Route 158 blamed on negligent driving

A driver of a Jeep is being blamed for driving negligently and colliding into a pick-up truck on Illinois Route 158.

Plaintiff Bryan D. Pruett filed the lawsuit against Kimberly A. Dalton on Oct. 21 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court.

According to the complaint, Pruett was driving a truck going north on Illinois Route 158 on March 20. He was about .29 miles south of South Illinois Street in Millstadt Township in St. Clair County at the time of the accident.

Dalton was allegedly driving a Jeep going south on Illinois Route 158 when she collided with Pruett’s truck, the suit states.

The complaint accuses Dalton of negligence for allegedly driving at a speed that was greater than reasonable and proper, failing to drive within a single lane of traffic, failing to keep proper control of her vehicle and failing to stop, slow down, swerve or avoid colliding with Pruett’s truck.

As a result of the accident, the plaintiff sustained injuries to various parts of his body causing him pain and permanent disability, the complaint states.

Pruett claims he will incur future medical expenses in an attempt to treat his injuries.

The plaintiff seeks a judgment of more than $50,000 in damages for pain and suffering, lost wages and medical expenses, as well as costs of the suit.
