A bank has filed suit against the Madison County man it claims failed to make required monthly payments.
Regions Bank N.A. filed suit Aug. 4 in the Madison County Circuit Court against David Stafford.
According to the complaint, Regions lent the defendant $143,408 on April 2, 2010. Stafford agreed to repay the loan in 59 payments of $2,989.93 and one final payment of $2,989.61, according to the complaint.
However, Stafford has not made a payment since September, the suit states. Although Regions has demanded repayment of the loan, Stafford has refused to do so, the complaint says.
Stafford owes Regions $60,690.72, the bank claims.
In addition to the money it claims Stafford owes it, Regions seeks costs, attorney's fees and other relief the court deems just. It is being represented by law firm Mathis, Marifian and Richter of Belleville.
