Woman asks court to declare her administrator of mother's estate

A woman is asking the court to appoint her as administrator of her deceased mother’s estate so she can file a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of her mother.

Mary E. Michaels filed the petition Feb. 10 in the Madison County Circuit Court.

Michaels claims her mother, Vronica Flom, died on Nov. 22, 2012. She says she has been appointed by her brother, sister and father to act as administrator of the estate.

“The remaining assets of the decedent’s estate are solely the potential causes of action accruing as a result of negligent medical care,” according to the complaint. “It is the intention of the decedent’s next of kin to file a wrongful death and survival action against each defendant.”

Michaels will be represented by Keith Short of the Law Office of Keith Short in Edwardsville.

Madison County Circuit Court case number 14-L-222.
