Suit seeks uninsured motorist coverage from Standard Mutual

A man has filed suit against his insurance company, seeking money for damages he claims he sustained in a collision in Belleville.

Richard Angevine alleges he had parked his 2000 General Motors Sierra in an eastbound direction in the 1800 block of Main Street on Nov. 25, 2011. Suddenly, Charmaine Lockett, who was driving a Chevrolet Suburban, crashed into Angevine’s vehicle, according to the complaint filed Nov. 25 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Because of the collision, Angevine was made sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled; suffered extensive injuries to his head, body and limbs; and incurred medical costs, the suit states. He also experienced pain and suffering; lost his ability to enjoy his normal life; and lost wages, the complaint says.

At the time of the collision, Lockett did not have insurance. Angevine had insurance through defendant Standard Mutual Insurance Company, he claims.

Now, Angevine is seeking money from his insurance company to pay for the damages he sustained in the collision.

He is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000.

He will be represented by Melanie R. Adams of Sievers and Borcherding in Brentwood.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 13-L-594.
